1st oatley bay scouts - ages 11 - 15



The 1st Oatley Bay Scouts meet every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm at the Scout Hall on Annette Street, Oatley. Enthusiastic troop leaders organise a range of activities for each term that include a variety of excursions, overnight camps and boating during the summer months. The Scout Troop includes both boys and girls.

COMING activitIES

Most activity information is provided through Operoo (formerly Care Monkey), we'll email you to let you know if you still need to fill out a paper form.  If you are unable to use Operoo ask leaders and we will send you a paper form.  Here are some activities to include in your diary.

  • February 26 - Scouting Founders Day @ Kyle Bay Scout hall
  • March 3-5 - Canoe Camp Woronora
  • May 5-7 Scout Hike
  • June 9-12 Region Camp

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK

If you are going to be helping on camps or as a parent helper, a "Working With Children Check" (or WWCC) is required. This NSW universal clearance is used by schools, sporting clubs and other volunteer groups.

Once you have your WWCC you'll need to fill in a Scout Adult Helper (A2) form

CAMP equipment

Here are some general equipment lists for camps.  Some camps will require other equipment but leaders will let you know.

Lightweight camping - use this list for hikes, Scout Hike and State Rally.
Standing camps - for camps where you drive to camp and stay in one place the list will be a little different for each camp.  Ask leaders or check the lightweight camping list if you aren't sure what some items are.
Snow Activities - use this list for trips to the snow.
