1st oatley bay scouts - ages 10-14



The 1st Oatley Bay Scouts meet every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm at the Scout Hall on Annette Street, Oatley. Enthusiastic troop leaders organise a range of activities for each term that include a variety of excursions, overnight camps and boating during the summer months. The Scout Troop includes both boys and girls.

Most activity forms will now be provided through Care Monkey, we'll email you to let you know if you still need to fill out a paper form.  If you are unable to use Care Monkey ask leaders and we will send you a paper form.

  • May 3rd to 5th - Scout Hike
  • May 21st Tues - Annual Report Presentation (ARP), parents welcome.
  • May 25th Sat - Red Shield Appeal, door knock
  • Jun 7th to 10th - Region Camp
  • Jul 9th Tues - Kirrawee Gang Show
  • Jul 28th - National Tree Day, planting at Beverley Hills 9am
  • Aug 2nd to 4th - State Rally
  • Nov 9th Sat - District Swimming Carnival
  • Sept 20th to 22nd - Scout Environment Camp
  • Sept / Oct - School for Adventure (SFA)
  • Oct 18th to 20th - Boree Regatta
  • Oct 19th Sat - Lions Festival, BBQ fundraiser.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK

If you are going to be helping on camps or as a parent helper, a "Working With Children Check" (or WWCC) is required. This NSW universal clearance is used by schools, sporting clubs and other volunteer groups.

CAMP equipment

Here are some general equipment lists for camps.  Some camps will require other equipment but leaders will let you know.

Lightweight camping - use this list for hikes, Scout Hike and State Rally.
Standing camps - for camps where you drive to camp and stay in one place the list will be a little different for each camp.  Ask leaders or check the lightweight camping list if you aren't sure what some items are.
